In this tutorial you will learn about:

1. How to add a prize to an activity
2. How to choose a fitting win criteria
3. How to handle the prize fulfillment
4. How to view the prize results & winner data

Prizes help to incentivize participation, add a new way to activate brands and overall drive engagement. This is a quick tutorial how to add prizes to your activities.

1. How to add a prize to an activity

In order to add a prize to an activity, you must at least have a Stagecast Engage plan. If you have a Stagecast Engage, Pro or Enterprise plan, you can add prizes to your activities.

To add a prize, click the "add" prize button on the activity card next to the activity name.

There are three steps to adding a prize and the prize configuration page takes you through each of these:

a) Choose a win criteria
First, you choose how prizes are won in the activity. Different activities have different prize win criteria available. For example, in a speed quiz, you can choose between "Top Rating" and "Reach Score" but you cannot choose "Completion (see image below).

With the "Top Ranking" criteria, the top X players in the leaderboard win a prize when the countdown runs out.

With the "Reach score" criteria, those players win a prize immediately who reach a certain percentage of the max score.

With the "Completion" criteria, everyone wins a prize that manages to complete the activity. This is especially useful for activities, such as the treasure hunt or the spinning wheel where not every participant can easily complete the activity.

b) Add Prize Information
Second, you insert the prize information that is given to the participants. Here you describe what can be won and how it can be won.

c) Configure the prize fulfillment
Third, you define the prize fulfillment -so, how you want to collect the contact information of the winners in order to do the prize delivery.

2. How to choose a fitting win criteria for your prize

In step one of the prize configuration (see 1. of this guide), you choose a win criteria. There are three different win criteria to choose from and different activities have different prize win criteria available. Along with choosing the win criteria, you also choose how many winners will be able to win a prize.

With the "Top Ranking" criteria, the top players in the leaderboard win a prize when the countdown runs out. You can define the number of winners.

With the "Reach score" criteria, those players win a prize immediately who reach a certain percentage of the max score. You can define how many people will win a prize and what % of the max score is needed to win the prize. If all prizes have been handed out, players who reach the score no longer can claim a prize.

With the "Completion" criteria, everyone wins a prize that manages to complete the activity. This is especially interesting for activities, such as the treasure hunt or the spinning wheel where not every participant can easily complete the activity. You can define how many people will win a prize.

Tip: Is is common practice that "winning a prize" really means "being considered for a chance to win a prize". E.g. among the top 10 players, who receive the prize, you will later raffle away the actual giveaway. If you decide to handle the prize fulfillment that way, just make sure to clarify this on the "prize information" page.

Tip: There are certain advantages to the different win criteria. Depending on what your overall goal is with the activity, either "Reach Score" or "Top Ranking" is favorable. The following list shows the advantages of either criterium:

3. How to do the prize fulfillment

Winners of your activities will receive a "winner" pop up, which you can customize in the fulfillment tab of the prize configuration. Through the winner pop-up, winners can share their contact information with you so that you can deliver their prize to them.

Depending on the "Prize fulfillment", the winner will either be directed to a website you set (like your own contact form) or you can collect their personal information via a contact form directly in Stagecast (see image below).

4. How to view the prize results & winner data

Winner data is collected under "results" on the activity card next to "prizes".

Depending on the prize fulfillment you have chosen, you will either see collected E-Mail addresses or the user names of the winners on the prize results page.

Easy as that! Now you know how to create and handle prizes on Stagecast ! 🚀
